EMF and Blue Light – The Safety Concerns of Virtual Reality

Synergy Science, a company specializing in health products such as purified water enriched with molecular hydrogen and EMF cancelling devices, have seen interest in their products increase for a very simple reason – the technology-obsessed modern world has left many people searching for a way to ameliorate the myriad harmful effects that it can have.

One device that promises to become considerably more prominent very soon is the VR headset. Once the preserve of overenthusiastic gamers, the device has been developed to such a point that it has all manner of applications in work, recreation, and daily life. Specifically, VR technology is of concern to those worried about their digital health for two quite distinct reasons – EMF radiation and blue light exposure.

The Effects of EMF and Blue Light

Both are harmful. EMF radiation, while only having pronounced effects on a minority of people, can cause less immediately identifiable symptoms in the majority. Such symptoms include sleep disturbances, increased irritability, and a feeling of low energy. And coming to blue light, the problems here are even more diverse. It can have two distinct negative effects: firstly on your eyes, causing strain and even deteriorating vision, and at the more alarming end of the spectrum, it can even increase the risk of certain cancers.

Virtual reality presents the dangers of both blue light and EMF – and not only that, but it does so in a headset that is positioned in close proximity to your face and brain. The potential dangers here are obvious.

What is VR?

Of course, one thing that has to be accepted is that virtual reality is not going anywhere. Ameliorating the danger, then, begins with learning what it is and what the appeal is.

Traditionally, virtual reality was used for gaming, creating a more immersive experience and bringing the player “into the game”, as it were. Today, its range of uses have exploded.

It would be impossible to list them all here, but examples include allowing users to enjoy movies in a more immersive way (there may even be movies soon made specifically for playing with VR headsets) and facilitating digital events, where people remotely separated can meet and interact as if they were in the same room together. It has also seen use in the property industry, allowing potential buyers to view a house from afar as if they were actually there. All of this is just around the corner – if it isn’t already here.

What You Can Do About It?

So, if you want to protect yourself in world where VR is everywhere – or even if you want to use VR yourself and avoid some of the more harmful effects, here follows some useful advice:

Shield Yourself When Using

Products such as EMF protection caps and EMF gloves can go a long way to shielding you from the harmful effects of EMF radiation when you are using a VR headset.

Use a Wired Headset

These products may soon go obsolete, but it is also possible that safety concerns will see wired VR headsets hang around for a bit longer. By using one, you can significantly reduce your exposure to EMF.

Wear Blue Light-Blocking Glasses

VR headsets are designed to be used by people with glasses too, so wear those blue light-blocking glasses and you can reduce many of the harmful effects which it causes.

Ultimately, VR headsets are part of our future, but they are far from totally safe. Use precaution and make some preparations, however, and you can be ready for whatever that future brings.
